Commercial Workforce Intelligence

Better workforce decisions start before the vacancy.

Marexo helps organisations make better workforce and capability decisions by connecting the business question with the information, intelligence and perspectives needed to determine the most commercially sound response.

The question behind the vacancy

A capability need should create a decision, not automatically create a vacancy.

Marexo looks further upstream. What is the business trying to achieve? What capability is required? What already exists? What does the market tell us? What is changing in the operating environment? What options have actually been considered?

The answer may be recruitment. It may be internal mobility, capability development, role redesign, location strategy, technology, additional expertise or a different response entirely.

The Marexo lens

The power is not only in the information. It is in what happens when it connects.

01

Information

Commercial, financial, operational, workforce, talent and market signals already exist across the organisation.

02

Intelligence

Those signals become more useful when they are connected, interpreted and tested against the business question.

03

Collaboration

Finance, Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Operations, Technology and leaders each see a different part of the capability picture.

Information creates visibility.
Intelligence creates understanding.
Collaboration creates perspective.
Better decisions create value.

Marexo does not treat intelligence as a report that sits on a shelf. The point is to improve the quality of the workforce decision.

The organisation may already hold much of what it needs. Marexo helps connect the signals, surface what is missing, test assumptions and bring the right perspectives into the conversation.

How we frame the decision

Four questions before the organisation commits to a workforce response.

01

Business outcome

What is the organisation trying to achieve, protect or change?

02

Capability

What must the organisation be capable of doing to deliver that outcome?

03

Intelligence

What do we know internally, what does the market tell us, and what are we missing?

04

Options

What are the viable ways to build, access, move, redesign or acquire that capability?

The outcome is a better workforce decision. Not simply a faster recruitment process.
What this looks like in practice

The workforce question is not always as simple as filling a vacancy.

Growth or market entry

A business is entering a new market.

What capability will it need, where does that capability exist, what will it cost, and should it build, buy, develop or access it differently?

TA value and influence

A Talent Acquisition function is not having the impact the business expects.

Is the issue capability, credibility, role design, capacity, access to information, leadership expectations, or the operating model itself?

Persistent hiring challenge

A critical role is repeatedly difficult to fill.

Is there genuinely a talent shortage, or should the organisation reconsider the role, location, skills, structure, remuneration or way the work is designed?

Work redesign

Technology or business change is reshaping the work.

What capability will still be required, what can be redesigned, what should be developed internally, and where will new capability need to come from?

Fragmented intelligence

Leaders are making workforce decisions with partial information.

Marexo connects business, workforce, talent and market intelligence to create a clearer view of the options, risks and implications.

Critical capability

The organisation needs capability quickly, but the answer is not obvious.

Marexo helps leaders compare the commercial implications of recruitment, internal movement, development, redesign or temporary capability.

The commercial edge

We look at the whole journey from capability need to capability in place.

Most Talent Acquisition transformation has concentrated on the final part of the journey: sourcing, process, technology, candidate experience and time to fill.

Marexo asks what happened before that.

When did the capability need first emerge?01
Who shaped the requirement?02
What information and intelligence were available?03
What options were considered?04
When did Talent Acquisition become involved?05
Was the eventual response commercially sound?06
What you leave with

Clarity, not another report.

The exact deliverables depend on the engagement, but Marexo's work is designed to turn analysis into a decision and a practical path forward.

Problem definition

A clearer view of what is actually driving the workforce challenge.

Connected intelligence

The internal and external information that matters to the decision.

Options and implications

Viable workforce responses and the commercial trade-offs behind them.

Operating requirements

What capability, role design, governance or conditions need to change.

Action roadmap

A practical sequence for what to do next and where to focus first.

Work with Marexo

Different problems need different levels of support.

The engagement model follows the problem. Marexo can be engaged for a defined project, embedded senior capability, flexible advisory support or selected strategic hiring.

Useful whenAn organisation needs an independent assessment, recommendation or focused piece of strategic work.
02FRACTIONAL

Fractional TA Leadership

Senior Talent Acquisition capability embedded into the business without requiring a permanent leadership appointment.

Useful whenA business is growing, changing or transforming and needs experienced leadership for a defined period.
03DAILY RATE

Embedded Advisory

Useful whenThe problem is known, but a full consulting project or permanent hire is not required.
04HIRING

Strategic Recruitment & Executive Hiring

Selected business-critical hiring that combines role challenge, market intelligence and direct recruitment delivery.

Useful whenThe quality of the capability decision matters as much as filling the role.
Technology enabled. Judgement led.

Turn available information into usable intelligence.

Where useful, Marexo works with the technology an organisation already has available, including approved AI and productivity tools, to bring information together, surface patterns and make workforce intelligence easier to use.

The technology is not the proposition. The business question, quality of the information, collaboration, interpretation and judgement come first.

Marexo can help shape a practical intelligence layer using the organisation's existing environment, rather than requiring a new platform before the value has been proven.

Over time, the Marexo methodology may evolve into a dedicated workforce intelligence engine or product. For now, the priority is proving the value of the intelligence and the decisions it enables.
Why it matters

Better workforce decisions create commercial value.

Earlier visibility of capability riskSee emerging needs before they become urgent vacancies.
Less unnecessary hiringTest whether recruitment is actually the best response.
Better use of internal capabilityMake existing skills, mobility and adjacent capability more visible.
Stronger role designDesign the work around the capability the business really needs.
Faster access to critical capabilityImprove the whole journey, not only the recruitment stage.
Better alignment of workforce investmentConnect talent and capability decisions more directly to business priorities.
Why I created Marexo

I kept seeing the same problem being solved in the same way.

I have spent more than 17 years working in Talent Acquisition and have seen what happens when the function is operating at its best.

I've built teams, created operating models, led and supported transformation, worked with senior leaders and delivered hiring across complex enterprise environments.

I've also seen the limits of how we usually think about Talent Acquisition transformation.

We improve processes. Introduce technology. Change sourcing models. Reduce time to fill. Those things matter. But they do not necessarily change the role, credibility or commercial value of Talent Acquisition within the business.

Are we transforming Talent Acquisition, or simply improving the mechanics of recruitment?

That question became the starting point for Marexo. I wanted to look earlier in the journey, at the business need, the capability decision, the information being used, the people involved and the conditions surrounding the decision.

Marexo starts with the business problem, not the vacancy.

What Marexo believes

Commercial rigour and human agency are not opposing ideas.

Business before activity

Start with the business goal, not a predetermined recruitment solution.

Capability before headcount

Understand what the organisation actually needs people to be capable of doing.

Evidence before assumption

Use intelligence to challenge assumptions, not simply confirm them.

Conditions matter

Role design, operating model, accountability, information and capacity shape what people can realistically contribute.

Capability must be real

Giving someone access or influence does not mean they automatically have the judgement or professional capability required to use it well.

Agency matters

Where people do have the required capability, they should have the space and confidence to exercise judgement and contribute meaningfully.

Let's connect

What workforce decision are you trying to get right?

Start with the business problem, not the solution. Marexo can help you understand the situation, connect the intelligence, challenge the assumptions and determine where to focus.
